What made you get into the oldies?
Well, it was my Uncle Stevens 50th Birthday and we didn't know what to get him. My Mom always thought I sounded good singing so she said why don't you sing a 50's song for him, thats a GREAT gift. We went through hours of CD's, You Tube videos, etc. to find the perfect song. I chose Gee Whiz by Carla Thomas. When researching all the songs, I fell in love with the oldies music. That was in December of 2007. I have always LOVED old country too like Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and others.

Have you met any famous people?
I am lucky to work with many doo-wop/oldies groups. Many of my friends are like WHO? but to me its an honor. I have met Freddy Paris, Johnny Mastreo, The Chantels, Barbara Harris, The Del-Vikings and my favorites are Vicky from the Harptones, Herman Santiago from the Teenagers, and Vito Picone & all the Elegants!
I was also lucky to meet all the contestants from Season 3 & 6 of American Idol!
My biggest, most exciting person I met just recently was Connie Francis. I went to her show and for 2 hours I sat there singing along with her in my seat. I then went to her dressing room and sat on the couch with her and she rubbed my arm and went over Mama with me. It was really cool but my Mom was nervous and talked too much, but its ok. I got to meet my idol!

Do you have any formal training?
I have voice lessons once a week with the best teacher ever, her name is Allison and she is a great singer too. Nobody teaches me my oldies songs, I learn them on my own.

What are your future plans?
To be a singer of course, learn more magic tricks and become better on the piano. If singing doesn't work out for me, I want to be a chef or a CSI agent. I don't have to become a huge mega star to be happy at singing. I just recently started to sing at Nursing homes and its really so much fun to watch them all singing along with me and they cry, laugh and smile - that makes me feel good to be a singer!

What would people be surprised to find out about you?
That I am shy. I don't like to sing in front of my family, only large crowds - the bigger the crowd, the hammier I become. I like anything that has to do with pig, I love pigs! I love to EAT! I have a hard time clapping in time, I am not so coordinated and I am not so great in sports.

Does anybody else in your family have any musical talent?
Well my Dad used to sing in a band back in the 70's. He has a good voice but he doesn't sing anymore. He also loves the oldies music. My Mom THINKS she can sing and my 2 brothers cannot sing. I do know that my little brother Brandon is definitely going to be quite the guitar player one day.

Any advice for kids?
So many people tell me I should sing songs more suited for my age, or pick songs from this decade. I chose to be different and sometimes it gets tough, but what I am trying to say is stick with it no matter what. As soon as you change to make other people happy it isn't fun anymore. Even though I enjoy listening to Miley Cyrus and all the singers out today, I don't want to sing their songs. I love singing songs from the 50's and 60's. STICK WITH YOUR DREAMS NO MATTER WHAT. You don't need to become a mega star, you need to enjoy what you do, right now I am enjoying what I do!
